The Brazilian Symposium of Information Security and Computer Systems (SBSeg) is an annual event, non-profit-making, promoted by the Brazilian Society for Computing (SBC). The main purpose of SBSeg is to be a forum for presenting and discussing research results and practical experience in Information Security Systems, both for the academic community as well as for the industry and government.

The first four editions of the event were named Workshop on Computer Systems Security (WSeg), and presented a growing number of submitted papers an participants, which lead to its reformulation as a symposium in 2005.

In its seventh edition, SBSeg will take place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, from August 27th to August 31st 2007, organized and coordinated by the Computer Center (NCE) of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). The Symposium is spread over five days and its activities include technical sessions, tutorials, short courses, panels, and workshops.
